Staff

Mrs. Christy Kerby returns as Principal/Administrator of Cross Creek for the sixth year, having taught kindergarten here for the past eight. Mrs. Kerby maintains a high standard for our teachers and students both academically and personally. She is excited about the growth of CCCA and what God is doing in our school! Mrs. Kerby and her husband, Rex, have two children and attend Cross Creek Church.

Ms. Rhoda Sacra continues as the Office Administrator for her seventh year at CCCA.  She is entering her 44th year in Christian education, which has included office administration as well as teaching.  Ms. Sacra’s grandmotherly manner helps our students feel right at home while in our school, and she is highly regarded as school “nurse” and advisor.  Ms. Sacra attends Grace Congregational Church and enjoys living near her daughter, son-in-law, and their five children.

Mrs. Bobbie Hendrix has been a Cross Creek volunteer for several years, beginning when her oldest son of her four children began school.  After a couple of years as part-time lunchroom supervisor and substitute teacher, she has now joined us full time as administrative assistant and physical education teacher.  Mrs. Hendrix also serves as year around substitute.  Her excellent administrative skills and good rapport with the students make her a wonderful asset to our staff.  She and her husband, Tony, have four children and one grandchild, and they attend Grace Evangelical Church, where she is an active teacher in Children’s Ministry.

Mrs. Donna Ashcraft joins our teaching staff this year as our K-4 teacher.  Armed with 24 years in the preschool education field, Mrs. Ashcraft’s gentle nature and good sense of humor make her a great asset to our school preparatory preschool program.  Mrs. Ashcraft also plays piano and is active in choir and children’s ministries in her church.  She and her husband, Tim, have one daughter.

 

Mrs. Vivian Smith begins at Cross Creek Christian Academy as our kindergarten teacher for the 2011-12 school year.  With 14 years in Christian education, Mrs. Smith is an A-Beka veteran gleaning experience in music, preschool, and kindergarten.  Her creativity, high energy, and excellent organizational skills make her class an optimal place of learning and fun.  Mrs. Smith and her husband, Tim, have two sons and attend Colonial Hill Church, where they are active in children’s and youth ministry.

Mrs. Valerie Stafford returns for her second year at Cross Creek as the first grade teacher.  With a BA in Elementary Education and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Stafford brings a wealth of knowledge to her classroom along with 26 years of classroom teaching experience.  Her love for her students and her desire to lead them to Christ is evident in her classroom.  Mrs. Stafford and her husband, Don, have attended Central Church for many years, and they enjoy their son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Brenda Gedeon returns for her fourth year as our second grade teacher for the 2011-12 school year.  She brings a wide range of teaching experience, including 25 years of homeschooling all seven of her children, junior/senior high school supervisor in A-Beka video school, preschool teacher, and fifth/sixth grades combination class teacher.  Mrs. Gedeon also has experience working with children in Awana and Patch the Pirate clubs.  Her patience and easygoing way is an asset in this age group.  Mrs. Gedeon and her husband, Mark, attend Cross Creek Church, where she is an active Sunday School teacher, choir member, and instrumentalist.


Mrs. Stacy Brown is entering her third year at Cross Creek, now as a combination class teacher for the third/fourth grades.  She has 13 years of teaching experience as well as several years of tutoring for Sylvan Learning Center.  Mrs. Brown enjoys children and strives to encourage them to do their best.  She and her husband, David, have two sons and attend Grace Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Tonya Coffman joins our teaching staff for the 2011-12 school year as our seventh/eighth grade combination class teacher.  She has five years of teaching experience on the A-Beka curriculum, including combination classes and homeschooling.  Mrs. Coffman also has many years of experience with the Children’s Ministry in her church, including teaching Sunday school, children’s choir, junior Bible quiz, and serving as Music Director for Christmas musicals.  Mrs. Coffman is a strong advocate for Christian education and is excited to be a part of Cross Creek’s teaching staff.  She and her husband, Kirk, have three children and attend Christian Life Church.


Mrs. Ashley Flory begins at Cross Creek Christian Academy as our subsitute teacher for the 2011-12 school year in our 5th & 6th grade class. She and her husband, Dayson, are originally from Tallahase, FL and just recently moved to the Collierville area after living in Grenada, MS for the last year and a half. Mrs. Flory has taught PreK – 5th grade
